A coffee day in Prague should reveal the city between cups. The point is not to collect famous cafes. It is to understand the local rhythm, notice one neighborhood properly and drink two coffees you actually wanted.
Choose the first neighborhood cup
Build the morning around Staré Město, one of the useful areas alongside Vinohrady, Karlin and Holesovice. This base works for first-time walking and early access to the historic core. Crowds, noise and high prices dominate the most famous streets.
Prague has ornate historic rooms and a strong modern specialty scene. Do not demand the same speed, price or mood from both. Choose the cafe as deliberately as the drink.

The pairing does not need an online ranking. It needs a kitchen with a clear specialty and a location that does not fracture the Prague route.
The second cup should feel different
Move toward Holešovice if energy and geography agree. It is a fit for contemporary art, design, markets and a more local northern base. It feels removed from the postcard city and varies from block to block.
In Prague, order a different preparation or choose the room for its social atmosphere. Two identical takeaway drinks do not make a richer coffee day.
